One of the greatest performers in the world, Sir Elton John, has embarked on his final tour - the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, after spending half a century on the road.

In celebration of his magnificent career, the British postal service Royal Mail has issued a set of eight spectacular stamps, celebrating this spectacular performer.

In cooperation with Sir Elton John himself, eight album covers from his library were selected, and used as the artwork for these celebratory stamps. The albums include Honky Château featuring the iconic song Rocketman, The album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, which features the classic song Candle in the Wind, and the album Sleeping With the Past - the bestselling album featuring the song Sacrifice.

The stamps, and hence the albums selected, paint a picture of his career, through the ups and downs, and it is a wonderful way to celebrate his life and career, as he prepares to move into another chapter of life, away from the stage.

Four of the eight stamps are denominated as First Class, and four are denominated at £1.55.
